The concepts covered in this session are:

1. Introduction- 00:00
2. Nuclear reaction- 01:08
3. Difference between Nuclear Fission and Nuclear Fusion- 01:20
4. International Thermonuclear Experiment Reactor (ITER) – 07:45
5. Where is the ITER project located? - 08:20
6. Tokamak- 08:28
7. India’s contribution to ITER- 10:38
8. Recent developments in nuclear fusion- 13:14

Other key aspects of ITER, such as nuclear fusion, the difference between nuclear fusion and nuclear fission, nuclear fusion examples, and nuclear fusion meaning, are also discussed during the session.

A nuclear reaction is a process in which two nuclei, or a nucleus and an external subatomic particle, collide to produce one or more new nuclides.

Thus, a nuclear reaction must cause a transformation of at least one nuclide to another. It is of 2 types – Fission & Fusion.

International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) is a collaboration of 35 nations launched in 1985. It is located in France.

It aims to build the world's largest tokamak to prove the feasibility of fusion as a large-scale and carbon-free source of energy.

A tokamak is an experimental machine designed to harness the energy of fusion. Inside a tokamak, the energy produced through the fusion of atoms is absorbed as heat in the walls of the vessel.

Important questions and previous year's papers are also discussed toward the end of the session.
