But we forget that Earth itself is living and watching everything. There may come a time when it seeks revenge from man.

This is perhaps what would happen or what should happen if people become so selfish and exploitative of all kinds of natural resources and the nature itself.

The poem is not about actual mother and son.
It is about mother earth and human as the preferred son+The chosen one.

The son destroys other children of the earth animals etc and finally kills the mother.

In the sequel, the Earth wakes up from ice age and kills man before it is born to protect its other children.
