The MG3 Hybrid, touted as the cheapest full hybrid available in the UK, has been reviewed and found to be lacking in certain areas. The car, priced from £18,495, is aimed at the supermini market left vacant by the demise of the Ford Fiesta. However, the slow sales of electric vehicles to private individuals, the UK government's deferral of the ban on combustion-engined cars until 2035, and the EU's relaxation of emissions requirements have all contributed to a widening gap in the market. The MG3 Hybrid offers a decent amount of legroom in the back, but the driving position is compromised and the interior lacks quality. The hybrid system, which includes a 1.5-litre petrol engine and an electric motor, provides good performance but is not entirely smooth. The handling and ride of the car are also lacking compared to its rivals. Overall, while the MG3 Hybrid may appeal to company car buyers, there are other options in the market that may be more preferable.
