Sarah DeLappe ’17 M.F.A. is the playwright of The Wolves, chronicling the complicated lives of a girls’ high school soccer team. After a critically acclaimed run at The Duke last year, it’s now set to be performed at the Lincoln Center Theater’s Mitzi Newhouse Theater, opening November 20.

Having started writing the play on the subway a few years ago, Sarah is a pretty big deal in the theater world already. The Wolves was a finalist for the 2017 Pulitzer Prize for Drama; the production won an OBIE Ensemble Award—for Neugebauer and the acting ensemble—and a Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Ensemble; and the play received nominations for the the Lucille Lortel Award, the Drama League Award, and the Outer Critics' Circle Award.

Despite the accolades, Sarah DeLappe credits much of her success to the Brooklyn College MFA in Playwriting program. "I feel so lucky to be in the same room with all these other smart, brave, really curious and imaginative writers," she says.
