Is HipHop Journalism DEAD?? How do we REVIVE it ?? | DeCypherEd Deep Dives

On this video, Skip discusses his perspective on the state of HipHop Journalism. He speaks on the perceived "downfall" of hiphop media publications, artists' desire to work with journalists outside of hiphop, and how the HipHop Journalists (i.e. Elliott Wilson) have reacted to it. Skip also talks about the prominence of online Twitch and YouTube streamers, and how they have taken a big share of the space in the attention-driving avenues of Hip-Hop. This new influx of media personalities has lead to artists leaning towards those personalities for album roll-outs and press ops, as opposed to the traditional "Hip-Hop Interview w/ Journalist" route. Although there are still notable journalists in the field, there seems to be a disconnect and it needs to be fixed, for the betterment of Hip-Hop as a whole.
