WLYF Jingle Number 16-04 - Aug. 2016

Hope I don't destroy the illusion by pulling back the curtain ... but some acquaintances were interested in the jingle-recording process.

This is raw video -- shot from the control room at TM Studios, Dallas -- of a four-voice group. They're laying their vocals over the previously-recorded instrumental track for one of the cuts in LITE FM's (WLYF Miami) new imaging suite.

The finished version will have a solo voice sing '101.5' a second time in the 'donut' (or gap) between '101.5' and 'LITE FM'.

Note how the four singers are overdubbed (or 'stacked') four times, to give the effect of 16 voices. It's a technique often attributed to Les Paul & Mary Ford ... and later, The Carpenters.
