The Prime Minister of Greece, George Papandreou, the film director Jean Luc Godard, the Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, Ieronymos, the President of Greek Parliament Philippos Petsalnikos, are some of the leading roles of the spectacle that is taking place in Athens, at Alsos Pagratiou, on the 15th, 16th and 17th of October.
Some of the facts that affected Greece within the last months will be presented through the eyes of the director Alexander Kollatos. Many of these raised a laugh while other caused shame, anger and discontent. The Prime Minister’s proclamation from the remote Aegean island of Kastelorizo, the Church’s short speech about the difficult situation of the country, the swiss director’s interview at Cannes, the death of the three employees at Marfin Bank, the establishment of the Solidarity Fund of Greece.
On the pulpit of the church, behind the tents of a theater on tour, on the stage, on the television, on the screen, or in a film studio, sounds, people and images that tarnished Greece in the period of May – June 2010, are unfolding in selected areas of the historic park of Alsos Pagratiou. The areas are tidied up to the needs of each spectacle with ecological conscience, and with respect to the environment.
In the park, during the performance, the spectator can choose the passage that will follow to different theatrical or on screen spectacles.
All the scenery, the installations and the costumes of the performance were created in the spirit of the economic crisis, from materials that have been reused and lot of personal work of a team of people who cooperated creatively.
