The SH-3 is an American twin-engined anti-submarine warfare (ASW) helicopter designed and built by Sikorsky Aircraft. A landmark design, it was the world's first amphibious helicopter and one of the first ASW rotorcraft to use turboshaft engines.

The Sea King has its origins in efforts by the United States Navy as a means of counteracting the growing threat of Soviet submarines during the 1950s.

The Sea King flew with the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, and 13 other countries. Sea King missions included anti-submarine warfare, cargo and personnel transport and rescue. The Sea King retired from the U.S. Navy in 2006. The VH-3 still flies as Marine One.
