PHILIPPINES RICE HARVEST in Agusan del Sur (Kumander Daot)

TODAY WE ARE HARVESTING RICE IN AGUSAN DEL SUR!

The fourth largest province of the Philippines drains into the Agusan Marsh, a wonder of biodiversity.

After checking on my calamansi farm and admiring the newly graded road, I head to Loreto, the neighbouring municipality, where a cooperative called SIBAFAMCO has been making a huge difference in farmers' lives.

Organic rice varieties - much healthier, and much better for the soil!

Then after seeing a cafe that supports local and a unique "RORO" motorbike ferry in Loreto proper, I head back to Veruela, because my mother in law is also harvesting rice!
