Stand By Me

Описание к видео Stand By Me

I doubt I've played and sang this ole song out of the Redback since I was a teenager, but lately adulting has been sore difficult. I've always tried real hard to do right by everyone and never could stand to have anybody mad at me for nothing. I reckon the older we get and the more people we know, the greater the chances of being unable to pacify everyone, right? Lately, I've had a couple of incidences where my character and integrity has been called into question by people I respected and certainly senior enough to warrant my respect. That being said, the more I observe, the more I realize older adults can be just as sketchy and spiteful as adolescents, and I've had to pray extra hard and examine my own words and feelings to avoid lowering my personal standards. Don't get me wrong. Sometimes, in a moment of fatigue or even carelessness of speech, I may say the wrong thing or even more than I intended. I do enjoy a good conversation, but there is such a thing as talking too much. I also know that the adversary of our souls will use any and all weapons at his disposal to weaken our spiritual walk and example in the community. Today was an exceedingly long day, but around 10:00 PM I drove on up to the gym to get a little lift in, and while driving, this old hymn came to mind, and I sang as I drove and hummed as I trained. When I got home and had a good scrub, I sat down and hit record. I don't know about the rest of you, but there's never been a greater need in my own life for the Lord to stand by me. Carry me, even. So, once again, as I slip off to bed, I leave you with this song from way back in the day "Stand By Me".

Be blessed, my peoples.
