Описание к видео Oil Temperature Sensor P0196 / P0197 / P0198 | How to Test and Replace

How to test and replace an oil temperature sensor; P0196 - P0197 and P0198. This sensor detects oil engine temperature and sends that message to the ecm. On the end of the sensor is a thermistor. The resistance decreases as temperature increases. You can quickly test the sensor via digital multi-meter and a hair dryer.

P0196 - Incorrect voltage is sent to the ecm when comparing signals from other sensors, such as the coolant temperature sensor and intake air temperature sensor.
