Elvis Presley - The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face - 2 September 1973 3am Show - Las Vegas

This song is only known to have been performed around forty times between 1971 and 1976, with the biggest concentration of these renditions in August and September 1973. This occurred during Elvis’ ninth Las Vegas season at what was now known as The Las Vegas Hilton.
In the engagements and tours following, the song would remain on the set list but Elvis would only perform it very sporadically. Testament to this is that present records show that the maximum amount of times it was performed in one engagement after 1973 was just three times.
Having recorded the song in Nashville on 15 March 1971, Elvis introduced it to the set list during his November tour of that year. It was performed on one further occasion during that tour, but apart from a single rendition during his June 1972 tour, it would not be hard again until his second Las Vegas engagement of 1973.
This lovely rendition originates from the third last show of that engagement during his midnight show on 2 September 1973.
