In the memory of the eminent artist Gaansaraswati Padma Vibhushan Kishori Amonkar, the Kalashray Foundation organized the
“5th Saraswati Sadhana Sammaan” program at the IRDT auditorium. Eight personalities from India,
who have made significant contributions in the fields of art, literature, music, and social
upliftment, were honored with the Saraswati Sadhana Award. The program began with Cabinet
Minister Subodh Uniyal and Suryakant Dhasmana lighting the lamp. This was followed by a
performance of classical singing by Vidushi Ruchira Kedar from Pune accompanied by pt. Shailendra Mishra on tabla , Pt. Dharmanath Mishra on Harmonium, Dr.Nutan Gairola and Km. Shristi kala on tanpura respectively. It was followed by Indian classical violin recital by
Ustad Asghar Husain from Delhi Gharana accompanied by Shri Parminder Singh on Tabla.
Afterwards a Performance by Founder of Kalashray and eminent classical and semi- classical vocalist, Shri Himanshu Darmora with Ustad Asghar Hussain ji on violin And Shri Parminder Singh on tabla. Additionally, an exhibition of Anjali Thapa's artwork based on
Uttarakhand was showcased. Padma Shri Prasoon Joshi, Dr. Sonalman Singh, Dr. D.R. Purohit,
Manju Narayan, Smita Bahuguna, and other dignitaries were felicitated during the program.
Senior IAS officer Bhaskar Khulbe was also present. Chairman Himanshu Darmora stated that
these awards are not dedicated to any one individual but to all art practitioners, whether they
are young aspirants or renowned senior artists. The program was attended by Shlok Gera, Ram
Chakravarti, Piyush Nigam, and other members of the organization as well.



About the artist -:
Ruchira Kedar is a leading young vocalist of the Gwalior- Jaipur gharana. Training initially under her father, Dilip Kale, Kedar learnt the intricacies of vocal music from Dr. Alaka Deo Marulkar. Thereafter, she received a residential scholarship at ITC Sangeet Research Academy, Kolkata, and received invaluable guidance from her current guru, Pandit Ulhas Kashalkar. She also took lessons in Thumri. Dadra, Hori, and Kajri from Vidushi Girija Devi. Ruchira is involved in student-mentoring at the Lalit Kala Kendra, University of Pune.

She has been awarded with Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar by Sangeet Natak Akademi, Govt. of India among other noteworthy awards and honors.
