Day 4 was a day where little blessings felt like big blessings. We found ourselves getting more used to this way of life. For example, that day we were having cold lentils by the beach and we’re generally happy. If we had just started the hike we would’ve been like "I want a soda man. I want a chair." But it felt life way easier than it would have"
We were both pretty tired. Throughout the day we took pretty casual breaks. And that is another way we found little blessings feeling like big blessings. We eventually got to our location and that was when some of the craziest emotions happened to me. In the motel lobby we were both flipping out. Ice lemon water,!!!, Piping hot coffee!! Candy,!! AND IT WAS FREE!!!!!! And that was just a motel lobby. But that day i really learned how far contentment can go.


Things for hikers to note:
1) the lighthouse at Tillamook head is not on the OCT. It is about a mile out of the way.
2) Unless you are sure there is a low tide don’t head back down to the beach until you have passed the head at Crescent beach (John Leon, State Natural Area)
3) Pelican brewery is excellent.
4) Cannon beach has a great little grocery store.
