Making A Roman Oil Lamp

Описание к видео Making A Roman Oil Lamp

We continue to make our replica Roman oil lamps in a similar style, using similar techniques to those used by the original Roman potters. These common little vessels would have shone out through the dark winter nights, and they would have been essential in the far northern outpost of the Roman Empire. Their warming glow will have illuminated houses, temples, military camps, milecastles and turrets along the length of Hadrian’s Wall. The lamp is a fully functional replica that can be used to burn olive oil just as the original would have done.
