In 2018, the Horne family experienced the devastating loss of Paul Horne, a decorated Veteran and detective inspector who lived with post-traumatic stress injury (PTSI). In his memory, the Horne family partnered with HRI to establish the Horne Family Memorial Fellowship.

This fellowship supports exceptional graduate and post-doctoral students working with Dr. Margaret McKinnon, Homewood Research Chair in Mental Health and Trauma, focusing on research and treatment for trauma-exposed front-line workers including military members, veterans, public safety personnel and health care workers.
