Tokoname City in Aichi Prefecture, known as the "City of Pottery," has long had a thriving ceramic industry,and the Tokoname Pottery Walkway is a tourist spot where you can feel the atmosphere of the most prosperous town in the early Showa period.Tokoname -Yaki ,a Japan Heritage site with a history of 1000 years.
Divided into Route A (1.6 km) and Route B (4 km), each area is lined with Japan's oldest surviving climbing kilns, the remains of factories and chimneys, and welcomes visitors with ceramic beckoning cats that symbolize good health and marital happiness.
In footpath the "clay pipe slope," a symbol of the Tokoname Pottery Walkway, has both walls covered with clay pipes from the Meiji era . And in recent years it has become a popular tourist spot.
