Hello neighbors, Steven here again. Today, we're looking at these Aries ActionTrac motorized running boards. Now, these motorized running boards do lower automatically, and they're gonna create a pair of steps on both sides of your vehicle. The second step that's inside of there, it's gonna deploy and retract from the main housing down when you open your door or close your door. So a very nice feature. They're gonna come down automatically.
If you're outside and you've ever seen these, they're pretty slick looking, so it's a nice addition to your already good-looking vehicle. They do have the built-in raised treads. So it's got this molded, or extruded rather, tread built in. These are made out of extruded aluminum, and they do have a very elegant black powder coat. It's very durable, very corrosion resistant.
They know these things are outside, especially if you live in snow/salt conditions that they're built to withstand all of that. They're very corrosion resistant. Now, they do have in, like I said, that built-in design on this tread, so that's gonna make sure that you never have to replace this whole top 'cause it's built in. So some of the other older Nerf bars, I'll call 'em running boards, they had, you know, like the hard plastic step pads. Sometimes they'd crack, fall off, whatever.
You had to replace 'em. You don't have to worry about it with these. It's got a built-in smart system. It's gonna keep the steps from deploying or retracting when an obstruction is detected. And that'll prevent risk of pinching and damage done by those steps, and even like opening, like if there's large rocks, other things blocking 'em, they will not open up if they detect something, so that smart system's a very nice feature.
Again, it's got a step within a step design. As far as measurements, we're at 48 and 3/4 long by four inches wide on the top step. That bottom step that deploys outta the bottom there, that guy's gonna be 44 inches long and three inches wide on its top step. And as far as the drop down on that second step that extracts, that's gonna be eight inches of drop. So pretty consistent with most of your staircases out there. Most stuff in your house is about seven and 1/2 to eight inches of drop. They do include LED lights and a wiring harness. Let me zoom in here on one end here. Show you that harness at least. So a built-in wiring harness. They do have built-in LED lights. Again, you won't see them right now 'cause I don't have it hooked up. And that light is hidden inside and only deploys when you open that step. They do have a limited lifetime warranty, and they do have very nice rotary motors inside of 'em. So that rotary motor is gonna give you a very nice, fast, quiet, maintenance free operation, and they do operate independently of one another, so if you only have one door open, it's only gonna open the one of the door that you have open. Now, again, if you want to install these on the vehicle, you would need a mounting kit that is sold separately. You can get that at etrailer.com. Just go use our fit guide, type in your year, make, and model. We can get you set up with the right parts the first time, and you won't have any problems getting these installed. This kit does come with a set of instructions. Very nice, very easy to read. It's got pictures in it. If you're like me and you hate reading but you love pictures, you can figure it out too. But honestly, read the instructions. It's gonna help you out a lot. You don't wanna fight it. It should be a pretty easy install. Well, I'm Steven. This is etrailer.com. I hope this helps you, and I hope you are able to pick out the right set of steps you need for your vehicle. Have a great day and stay safe out there.
