Target Audience
This activity is designed for Child Neurology, Physical Medicine and Rehab, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, and
Neuroradiology healthcare providers.
Statement of Need
Physicians and practitioners need a venue to stay up-to-date on the newest diagnostic and treatment guidelines in
pediatric neurologic diseases. Practitioners need to become familiar with caring for children with a variety of neurologic
diseases, including the latest therapeutic advances and recommendations.
Objectives
At the conclusion of this offering, the participant will be able to:
1. Define status epilepticus.
2. Recognize the importance of prompt seizure identification and treatment.
3. Identify a stepwise clinical treatment algorithm for status epilepticus.
4. Discuss clinical scenarios where continuous EEG monitoring is helpful in guiding care of neonates and older.
