Watch till end. On 7.16.22 I crashed in the canyons. Eric Fox & Bob Butcher saved my life. Below is what Eric (retired police officer) said he witnessed:
“We locked eyes for a split second when you passed by and I saw you go down behind me in my side view mirror. I saw your body slide and hit the guard rail at very high speed and then bounce 30+ feet. We thought you were surely dead. We turned around and rushed back. You were unconscious for a long time and then suddenly you gasped, and gurgled, and said you could not breathe. I moved you just a little and opened your suit so you could breathe. There was no cell signal. We tried to call the helicopter with our radio but the power lines in the mountain were interfering with the signal. Finally we made contact. The helicopter landed and I could tell the medics were very concerned, moving as fast as they could, even one of the helicopter pilots jumped out to help because of your unstable vitals. It was critical. They kept the helicopter blades running, we had to drive under the rotating blades to transport you to the helicopter up the road. I couldn’t help but think if we were just a millisecond ahead we would have collided. I also couldn’t help but think if there was no guard rail things would have ended very differently. It’s an absolute miracle you survived.”

I was airlifted to a trauma center where I remained for nearly a month post surgery. After discharge I've seen 40+ doctors, specialists, etc across LA, Dubai & India over the last 13 months, done countless tests & treatments yielding various diagnoses, & yet NO CLEAR PROGNOSIS.

Diagnoses: Brain Damage to Temporal Lobes, Vestibulopathy, Post Concussive Syndrome, Vertebral Dislocation C1/C2 pushing on spinal cord, Cervicocranial Syndrome; PTSD, Major Depression, Panic & Anxiety Disorder. Torn LCL, IT band, & Meniscus. Humeral fracture.

A year is a blink of an eye yet feels like an eternity when fighting to recover
I never imagined I'd still be figuring out what is wrong with me a YEAR+ after crashing. The first 6+ months...grueling yet hopeful; the last few months...unexpectedly tormenting & uncertain.
Recently, after a dead end with modern medicine, I returned to INDIA, to ancient healing...to a Naturopathic Hospital.
Despite the uncertainty and the abject fear it breeds, along with sadness, resentment, rage, & grief, an ember of gratitude remains; gratitude for those who saved my life; gratitude for family & friends who continue to reinforce, "This too shall pass," whenever I'm confronted with, "What if I'm stuck like this forever?"
What my darkest hrs have felt like: Being out on the ocean, 1000s of miles from land, on an inflatable tube during a relentless storm without a compass, a knife stuck inside my skull, my brain pushing hard on my cranium, & a bag of jagged rocks buried inside the top of my neck. I have a radio, but everyone on the other end speaks another language.
It's impossible to articulate the nuance each diagnosis & symptom carries. A spine dr. noted my case is 1/100, and the Naturopathic Hospital said they've never had a patient with these many complex injuries.
I celebrated my last 9 birthdays doing mental & physical challenges that pushed my limits -- to best prepare for the unexpected. WATCH HERE: • How do you want to "celebrate" your next b... I've often thought, given the chance, I'd rather do all 9 consecutively than face this.
I dream of the day my brain heals. I dream of waking up symptom-free. I dream of riding again. I dream of concentrating w/o issue. I dream of being at peace. I dream of this being behind me.
