The Governance of Wholesale Power Markets (4.12.22)

Описание к видео The Governance of Wholesale Power Markets (4.12.22)

Rapid transitions in the power sector are shining a light on how wholesale power markets function, who benefits, and who decides. The advent of cheap wind and solar power has especially disrupted the markets, as new players enter and incumbents seek to preserve the status quo. The move to 100% clean electricity will be helped or hindered by how power markets work.

This Clean Energy States Alliance webinar discussed how wholesale markets are governed, how governance affects decisions about market design and operations, how states and others can engage, and what features of governance should be changed. It reflected findings from a recent CESA report, "The Governance of Wholesale Power Markets" (https://www.cesa.org/resource-library...) by CESA Senior Research Associate Bentham Paulos, and featured power market veterans:

Rich Sedano, President and CEO of the Regulatory Assistance Project
Dr. Shelley Welton, Associate Professor of Law, University of South Carolina
