My Dell XPS M1330 was running quite hot, it reached 105 degrees Celsius once so i decided I have to do something about that. I've cut a square hole on the back cover and glued a cooper radiator (glue on the sides and Arctic Silver 5 thermal paste in the middle) on top of the heat-sink. I've also replaced the thermal pads on nVidia card, Bios and CPU with Arctic Silver 5 thermal paste. With no external cooling my laptop is able to idle at 50+ degrees Celsius with an external 1920x1080 monitor connected too and under stress it is about 75 degrees Celsius. With external cooling on full power it idles at about 38-40 degrees Celsius and on stress at about 65 degrees Celsius with the external 1920x1080 monitor. I use my laptop for 3D programs such as Solid Works and Google SketchUp, both running very well and I use it for games like GTA SA, rFactor, Need For Speed U2/Most Wanted all games running quite well on high resolution and medium+ detail level.
