The reason why he wasn't able to move was because there was a Graveyard between me and him, preventing him from moving towards me. Thanks to this, I was able to stall him out and only had to kill 2 of his minions normally, which was still a difficult challenge without Hellfire or Agony Seal.

Oh yeah... turns out Wild Roar isn't obtainable... Whoops...
