The XUV500 has always been big on presence, features and the recent update brings it on par with what is expected in the segment. The higher diesel engine power is welcome, as it makes the XUV more effortless to drive than before. Overall it still remains an attractive option but impressive rivals like the Tata Hexa and the Jeep Compass is making life difficult for this Mahindra.


The Hector Plus is essentially a longer, more comfortable SUV with individual captain seats in the middle row and an extra row of seats at the back. It builds on Hector’s reputation of being a well-finished and feature-rich SUV, and at the same time, it will persuade many prospective buyers from the erstwhile Toyota Innova Crysta. Sure, not offering a diesel automatic can be a deal-breaker for some, but it is a capable SUV nonetheless.
