Rush - Distant Early Warning bass cover (Steinberger L2)

Описание к видео Rush - Distant Early Warning bass cover (Steinberger L2)

Distant Early Warning from Grace Under Pressure. Grace Under Pressure has probably the most understated bass playing on any Rush album (preceded by Signals and followed by Power Windows and Hold Your Fire which might be the 3 most flashy in terms of bass parts!) but it's always been one I listen to a lot. I love the synth parts throughout the album (on the tour he had a PPG Wave, a Jupiter-8 and an OBX-A - aka synth heaven) and there is still enough cool bass playing - like this song - to keep me interested!

This song is one of Rush's catchiest choruses. God knows how many days I've had it in my head on repeat over the years...

Geddy used a Steinberger L2 for Grace Under Pressure and the live concert from this tour was what made me want to get one in the first place. His sound on that live concert is brilliant and different to any other bass I've heard. It's always fun to play stuff from this album with the Steinberger and I had hoped that Geddy would play this song on R40 with one of his, but it seems he really doesn't like them anymore :(

I'm also using my Tech 21 YYZ pedal for the first time on my Youtube recordings. Beefs up the sound a lot. I really rate the pedal and would recommend anyone who likes Geddy's sound to check it out.

Thanks for watching!
