The writers really decided to kill everyone Tim cares one after the other holy shit lol.

Context time! Everything starts when Tim quits as robin, and of course shortly after, Stephanie gets fired as his replacement robin, leading into a big gang war. Darla aquista, a friend of tim's was shot (IN FRONT OF HIM) and killed during a shootout in war games. Jack Drake, Tim's father is hunted down and murdered by captain boomerang in identity crisis. Stephanie brown, Tim's at the time girlfriend dies from a mix of injuries sustained by black mask and medical malpractice by Leslie Thompkins, (also in war games, which was later partially retconned due to backlash). Those three deaths are one after the other, and his mother was already murdered prior to this— Tim doesn't get a moment to breathe in the slightest. Then of course, Kon, Tim's best friend is killed in infinite criss by another version of himself. The death of Kon very much feels like a breaking point for Tim.. Because he then attempts to clone him, and by attempts, I mean like he tries at least 99 times, before being caught by Cassie Sandsmark. Kon's at the time girlfriend. (Then of course Cassie and Tim have a weird grief fueled thing together. It's messy for everyone.)

TLDR; Tim's life is a mess after he quits robin for a short period, a bunch of people die and he puts all his mourning into cloning Kon! Super sane guy.

Tim's my personal favorite of the robins. The red robin series is very much what got me into reading the actual comics. Would absolutely recommend, though this video has events from before that lol. Definitely TimKon coded but can also be seen platonically because this literally happens in canon lmao.
