Описание к видео Love Your Library | 30 May 2022: Mental Health Matters | Soon Wiley Interview

This episode of the Love Your Library podcast features an interview with debut novelist from across the pond, Soon Wiley, about his new release, When We Fell Apart. A compelling story of a tragic death and the harrowing steps that led up to it, When We Fell Apart is set to be flying off bookshelves globally this summer. We spoke to Soon about the rewards and challenges of the writing process, what inspired him to create this story and why libraries are so special.

We were also joined by Rebecca, a Library Team Assistant working across Alresford and Winchester Libraries. Rebecca spoke to us about her book choice, The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath, and its themes of mental health and isolation. The month of May saw us observing Mental Health Awareness Week, a time for us to reflect on supporting one another’s mental health. We discussed the many ways libraries play an important role in supporting communities and combatting loneliness. See a list of the resources mentioned below and visit the Hampshire Libraries website to explore a full range of what we can offer you.
