Description
This model is an exceptional model. This was one of Chevrolet's models that represent what we call woodies. The use of wooden bodies on motor vehicles goes back to the early days. In 1939, Chevrolet did not make the wooden body of the station wagon, but instead sent chassis to outside body makers to finish the conversions.

Our particular shows what this conversion would look like in great detail. Its important to note that the body is made from real wood and not plastic. This allows that extra appeal to the collector. The detail and quality cannot be faulted in its use. With the metal part, also adding the attention to details. That front can clearly be a Chevrolet. With the headlights on the front mudguards to the Chevrolet grill and the Chevrolet flying lady emblem they used in the early periods, the bonnet is a 2 section bonnet open on each side. There are no separate indicators, as you used your arm instead. A little hard because of the window size. That interesting body had 4 doors, and the rear back. The rear opens in two sections.
On this model, only the two front doors open. But they do open wide to show the bench seats with not one but two rear seats. Access does not allow us to see if those back seats fold down. However, I personally believe they did. The vehicle shows how Spartan these early models were. The dashboard was minimal in detail, with at least a glove compartment. The instrument panel is also basic.
The four tires include hubcaps, with the spare mounted on the right mudguard.
Overall, a nice model, that is a great display model and an excellent addition to any collection. With that real wooden body, this will be a good conversation
