At Bethany High, we have always learnt to expect the unexpected! Simply the Best II, featuring the best of Bethany’s musicians & singers, started off with a threat of rain and some tech issues. But as the saying goes, “The show must go on,” and indeed it did after a few tweaks, much to the excitement of the spellbound audiences. The energy never dipped!
To name a few, the Primary babies, all dressed up in Elvis costumes complete with sideburns, had the audience eating out of their hands with Blue Suede Shoes, Jailhouse Rock, and the melodious "If I Can Dream."The A. R. Rahman medley shook up the seated audiences as there were even some Carnatic twists! Next, the past students showed they’ve still got it with a Hamilton medley from the Broadway blockbuster! Next up was a collection of Pop hits from Dua Lipa, Backstreet Boys, Nsync and others, which was explosive as at some points the audience was louder. The iconic guitar riff for Sweet Child of mine, brought the roof down with everyone singing along, and Here I Go Again (Whitesnake) with a parent rocking the stage. Back in Black (ACDC) had a 10-year-old drummer powering out and Don’t stop believing (Journey) was a choir accapella showcase while Africa (TOTO) included Bethany Music Dept. teachers too. The concert ended with all 105 performers on stage for Hey Jude (Beatles), which turned out to be a fantastic ending to an unforgettable concert.
Bethany events cater to 3 main Causes to help the marginalised in our community. So together, we celebrated with the joy of music and imbued compassion in the true Bethany spirit.
