Thursday, September 28th - Teatro Bibiena

On the 15th Anniversary of the inscription of Mantova and Sabbioneta on the UNESCO World Heritage list, the UNESCO Chair in Architectural Preservation and Planning in World Heritage Cities (Politecnico di Milano) and two municipalities of Mantova and Sabbioneta have come together to organize a workshop to reflect on complex issues relating to the Management of a UNESCO World Heritage property that is a living historic city. In this regard, the 2011 UNESCO Recommendation on the Historic Urban Landscape (HUL) is a tool to integrate policies and practices of heritage conservation of the built environment into the wider goals of urban development in respect of the inherited values and traditions of different cultural contexts (https://whc.unesco.org/ en/hul).
