GW2: Arah p2 Thief solo

As I have said before, Arah p2 is going to be the one record I'll always try to defend. This time around, although I immediately wanted to start doing runs after Roul's most recent solo, I put it off because of a template bug that was introduced with EoD that is particularly painful for Thief. I reported it through multiple different channels and naively thought it would be fixed in a timely manner, but here we are two months later I guess. Swapping traits force activates Shadow Return and Infiltrators Return, which forced me to reroute every skip section in this run; the opening skip is particularly creative imo.

Balance changes! Since my last solo, we've had three significant game wide nerfs; the removal of CC consumables, the boon furnace, and the exposed nerf. On top of that, Invigorating Precision received a massive nerf which changed how I needed to approach Alphard.

So with all these nerfs, where did all the timesave come from? Introducing solo condi Daredevil! Despite how stupid that sentence sounds, during these 6 weeks of downtime I've had the time to theorycraft some wacky strats. Even though I no longer come even close to capping my condi duration, Aristocracy Runes synergizes extremely well with Thieves Guild and this build in general. Combine that with the recent buffs to condi thief, easy breakbars via soft CC, and two high armor bosses, I got around a minute of timesave on those two bosses alone.

The last ingredient in the recipe was an Enchanted Snow Diamond Tonic with a garnish of Superior/Major Celerity Sigils. With the boon Furnace fully Taken, I needed a new method of precasting quickness. Roul chose not to abuse this; if he did, the times would be significantly closer but I think Thief is still the winner over Guardian here.

As for the run itself, I'm pretty happy with my gameplay here. Lupi RNG is a meme as always, and aside from that just a couple of minor mistakes on the skips to Alphard and Brie. No matter how many times I do this, I still get the adrenaline pumping on any run that makes it past Lupicus. About 20 hours of fun this time, I rate 5/7 would play again.
