We visited Middleburg, Virginia on a beautiful fall afternoon. It is a charming and historic southern town next to the Blue Ridge Mountains. It offers the best of small town America with museums, historic landmarks, fine dining, antiques and historic buildings. It is about an hours drive from Washington DC. Walking along its quaint streets was like stepping back in time. Middleburg is known as being the nation's horse and hunt capital with many equestrian events throughout the year. Its 19th century center of town is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
