I was quite shocked to learn that after owning this truck for the past 13 years, having done countless maintenance on it, that I had never even heard of this problem until recently. As you can see in the video, the one is extremely vulnerable to failure. If this item fails, and you do not shut off your truck IMMEDIATELY it is known to have DISASTROUS consequences by very likely blowing a head gasket OR WORSE! A $10 and 2 hour job can save you $4000 plus in engine repairs, not to mention just being stuck in the middle of nowhere in a best case scenario. Might keep a few of these on hand for spares, for your buddies as well.


Will C. recommends brass "shark tooth" type fittings that are available at most hardware stores will work great. I got damn lucky! Tell your friends!
