Message from Cheyo, a cacao farmer of Guatemala

From a farmer's heart to yours

Giving a voice to our cacao farmers is ESSENTIAL at Cacao Source. Farmers work tirelessly to care for the land which nourishes our bodies. More than ever they are challenged by diseases, climate change, and the lack of value from the world towards their work.

Cheyo, a farmer at Las Victorias from our SPRING origin, wants to speak up and has a message for everyone open to listening. Cheyo is caring for the land of his father. This land has high value because of its rich natural resources and water streams. The small family is given high offers on the land but they keep fighting to preserve the land. Most of the region is home to large-scale monoculture farms and Las Victorias is a small paradise in the middle of it all.
