Описание к видео The pure beauty of an original Adolphe Sax, circa 1852 - Taimur Sullivan

The pure beauty of an original Adolphe Sax, circa 1852 in the hands of master saxophonist, Taimur Sullivan. This particular instrument is extremely rare. It showcases Adolphe Sax's genius and constant desire to tinker to improve the instrument. The original neck is a curved "tenor" style neck. We've never seen another one like it.

Amazingly, this is one of the most in tune saxophones ever made and it has a beautiful rich warm sound. You just have to be able to deal with the double octave mechanism and antiquated keyword. Thanks to the always awesome, Dr. Sullivan for braving the keywork to present this video demonstration.

This instrument is one of the latest additions to the Saxquest Museum Collection. Come visit Saxquest in St. Louis, MO sometime and check it out for yourself. You can alto read more about it in the virtual museum on saxophone.org.
