VILLA DE CONTLA Fiestas Patronales Abril 28 2024 4K | Jalisco 🇲🇽

La Ex – Hacienda de San José de Contla, tiene su inicio en el año 1643, en que el Virrey de la Nueva España, García Sarmiento, Conde de Salvatierra, autorizo su establecimiento. La capilla original de esta hacienda fue bendecida el 15 de mayo de 1898 por el Pbro., y científico José María Arreola.

Su parroquia actual se bendijo el 24 de abril de 1956 por el Arzobispo de Guadalajara José Garibi Rivera que en ocasión de practicar una visita pastoral, pasada por este lugar, su primer párroco fue el Pbro. Serapio Martínez.

Sus fiestas patronales concluyen el 1º de mayo en honor de Sr. San José patrón de esa comunidad desde el tiempo de las haciendas, tomando parte también en los festejos un comité de feria que se encarga de la parte profana (toros, bailes, recibimientos, etc.) por lo que en los últimos años se a incrementado la afluencia de visitantes en especial de los hijos ausentes que radican en los Estados Unidos.

The Ex - Hacienda de San José de Contla, has its beginning in the year 1643, when the Viceroy of the New Spain, García Sarmiento, Count of Salvatierra, authorised its establishment. The original chapel of this hacienda was blessed on May 15, 1898 by Father and scientist José María Arreola.

Its present parish church was blessed on April 24th, 1956 by the Archbishop of Guadalajara José Garibi Rivera, who, on the occasion of a pastoral visit, passed by this place, its first parish priest was Father Serapio Martínez.

Its patron saint festivities conclude on May 1st in honour of San José, patron saint of this community since the time of the haciendas. A fair committee also takes part in the festivities, which is in charge of the profane part (bullfighting, dances, etc.), which is why in the last few years the number of visitors has increased, especially the absent children who live in the United States.
