In this video, we explore one of Sindh’s most fascinating folk legends – the story of Mororo (Morra) and his six brothers. According to local folklore, the six brothers went hunting in the Arabian Sea near Karachi, where they were swallowed by a giant sea creature — often described as a shark or crocodile. Their elder brother, Mororo, courageously entered the sea, fought the creature, brought it ashore, and cut open its body to recover the remains of his brothers.

Today, the graves of those six brothers still stand near Gul Bai Chowrangi in Karachi, a place mentioned in the poetry of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai and written about in many books.

Nearby lies Mororo Graveyard, believed to be one of Karachi’s oldest cemeteries. This sacred site is home to many historic tombs and shrines. Among them is the grave of Maulana Muhammad Sadiq, a leader of the freedom movement and founder of Mahzar-ul-Uloom Madrasa. Notable figures such as Maulana Abdullah Sindhi, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, Maulana Mehmood Hasan Deobandi, and even Mahatma Gandhi once visited his madrasa.

The graveyard also contains centuries-old tombs, several Sufi shrines, and is recognized as the third holiest site for the followers of the Zikri faith.
