Some players can produce the sensation of old age, of something matured, with the patina of time. @Glauber Rocha is one of those, and this feeling is enhanced by the wonderful 1929 Simplicio guitar used on this video. Coming from Brazil, he studied in São Paulo and in Munich; he is certainly one of the most impressive young South American guitarists. The perfect positioning of his hands suggest stability, and that is what we get in his playing. Here he plays Mignone's nostalgic #Waltz​ in G minor, nº 8 of a set of 12 waltzes in all minor keys. #Mignone​ was a superb symphonic composer who wrote a lot for the guitar in the 1970's; many of his works, like this one, evoke his youth as a serenader, earlier in the 20th century.
