Ustad Badar Miandad Khan was born on 17 February 1962 in Pakpattan Sharif. His father Ustad Miandad Khan was also a great Qawwal. And his grandfather, Ustad Deen Muhammad Khan, ( Jalandhri Qawwal ) who, while living in Jalandhar, celebrated the whole of Pakistan and India with his Qawwali. This family has been doing Qawwali for the last 600 years. Many great names were born in his family
( Ustad Masri Khan, Maula Bakhsh Khan, Ustad Fateh Ali Khan, Ustad Mubarak Ali Khan, Ustad Ahmad Deen Khan, Ustad Deen Muhammad Khan , Ustad Miandad Khan. Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan )

All of them have one family which is also called Qawwal Bacha family. This family runs from Ghazni in Afghanistan and from there settled in Jalandhar in India then settled in Faisalabad and Pakpattan Sharif after the partition of Pakistan and India.

Ustad Badar Miandad Khan, following in the footsteps of his father Ustad Miandad Khan, started regular Qawwali on his father's Chehlam. The first Kalam (Tu Nai Te Teriyaan Yadaan) was released in the market which became very popular and after that when the second album (Dam Dam Hussain Moula Hussain) came out it became very popular all over the world. After that he gave many super hit songs like
( Chandni Raatain, Ganj Shakar Waliyan Da Raja, Ali Ali Kehna, Na Cher Malanga Nu.Jashan e Aamad e Rasool, Kadi Te Data Puchan Ge, Mela Laga Meri Data Sarkar da, Shakar Wandi Di Baba De Darbar, Ghos De Manan Walian Di, Yad Bhuldi Nai Teri).

Ustad Badar Miandad Khan was a great musician as well as a Qawwali. His composed songs have been sung by many singers like (Mera Charkha Bolay) (Main Sadke Dhol Mahiya) and he has also given music for many films and also made qawwalis into pictures. Like
( Ibra, Butshikan, Lahoriya, Jannat Ki Talash, Mustafa, Chupke Chupke, Jadoo ) and also acted in Indian films like ( Gehrai, Mr. and Minister, Garv, Mitar Pyare ) followed by Khan. Sahib made numerous tours of his Qawwali in all countries including Europe, America, Africa, Middle East, India, Japan. Then he performed Qawwali on the first anniversary of
( Titanic ) in America and people appreciated it a lot.

Ustad Badar Miandad Khan was suffering from heart disease and then suffered from stroke and he met his true creator on 2nd March 2007. His poems, songs and songs are still heard and remembered by people. The name of Ustad Badar Miandad Khan will live on as long as the Qawwali of Khwaja-Khwajagan continues. Ustad Badar Miandad Khan has three sons
( Sikandar Badar Miandad , Ali Badar Miandad and
Shahzaib Badar Miandad ) who are following in the footsteps of their father.
