Fast-forward to today and cars like the new Ford Everest simplify things dramatically. Today we’re going to check out the Terrain Management System — or TMS — in the Ford Everest and see whether it’s actually as easy as it looks.

It’s all managed using a dial on the console, which switches between Snow/Gravel/Grass, Sand and Rock. We test each setting to see how effectively it works and whether it lives up to the hype.
