Toyota Avanza Oil Change

In 5 minutes, learn how to change your engine oil + oil filter, at home, in your apartment or condominium, in your parking lot! (This is otherwise known is some workshops as a "basic service".)

This is my wife's 2011 Toyota Avanza (1st generation) - also known as the Daihatsu Xenia, FAW Senya M80/S80, and FAW Sirius S80. This is the model with the 1.5 litre engine. The filter is cheap and the oil is common place - the best scenario for DIY car maintenance 😊

Here are the stuff you'll need:

• New engine oil (acceptable grades: 5W-30 / 10W-30 / 15W-40 / 20W-50) https://shope.ee/5UvGYQ2gAT
• New crush washer (2.4mm outside diameter, 1.4mm inside diameter) - this is an additional measure to prevent oil leaks
• Normal / six sided 14mm socket
• Wrench (and possibly breaker bar)
• Hydraulic Jack + Jack stands, or a ramp
• Any pan (to catch the old oil)
• Funnel
• Some paper towels
• Gloves
