Guild Esports Lost $6 Million in 6 Months

Guild Esports has reported losing 4.3 million pounds, or nearly 6 million dollars, over a six month period this week.

Guild Esports came out of the gate strong, with a nearly 57 million dollar listing on the London stock exchange, and signing David Beckham to a $19 million deal to be the face of the org. Guild Esports has teams in Valorant, Rocket League, FIFA, and Fortnite, along with multiple signed content creators. So when they announced that they had actually lost nearly 6 million dollars in the last six months and made less than $400k in revenue...a lot of esports fans were shocked.

Even other esports org owners, like G2 Carlos, had harsh words for Guild Esports. “$400,000 in revenues. Whoever invested in this shit deserves to be financially sucked dry” tweeted the owner of G2.

But it’s not all bad news for Guild Esports. Large losses in younger companies investing into esports are not uncommon. And while less than $400,000 in revenue is not ideal, the org did announce $7.5 million in new sponsor deals going forward, with companies like HyperX and Subway.

So while the nearly 6 million dollar loss is certainly eye opening for David Beckham and the rest of the Guild Esports investors, let's not rush to count them out just yet.
