This week we have a very military model for you, built almost 60 years ago, and one that I have really fallen in love with. Not only do I think Dad did a nice job on this model, but the features are really cool! I’m someone who gets excited about the removable, retractable and sliding parts, and this one is full of those. A sleek and highly detailed model of the colorful, rugged and versatile P-40E, the unconventional “sky battle wagon” flown by the best known fighter squadron of World War II - the Flying Tigers! Led by General Claire L. Chennault as a unit of the American Volunteer Group, the dreaded, daring “Flying Tigers” left a vivid mark in history.
