Rugby Star Left Partially Sighted After Being Glassed in Leeds Bar

Rugby star and father of two Matthew Syron was at a bar in Leeds when Gareth Dean, who had 10 previous convictions, smashed a glass into his face in a completely unprovoked attack.

He was left partially sighted after the attack & has been unable to return to his family in Australia because of ongoing medical treatment. Matthew is now campaigning for a change in the law to ban the use of glass in nightclubs late at night.
