Dark Skies of Dartmoor National Park, Devon UK | a Time Lapse Film | 4k

A collection of my first astrophotography time lapse attempts. The longest I have ever spent on a 2 minute film, and the culmination of many long nights battling the cold, rain, cloud and fog in the murky depths of Dartmoor National Park. A precursor to filming in Arches National Park & the Canyonlands of Utah this Autumn!

There was a lot of cloud…

For most of the shots, I lit the foreground with a number of dimmable LED spotlights. Even the dimmest of light was enough to illuminate my subject for a 20 - 30 second exposure. Also, no tracking or stacking was in any way used - all my astrophotography shots are single exposure.
