Super Smash Bros Rock Medley

SMAAASH BROTHERS!! From kids to adults and fans of every Nintendo and 2nd-party character, Super Smash Brothers is one of the most accessible and recognizable games. On a whim over ten years ago, I picked up the N64 one from Blockbuster and it quickly became one of my favorites. While I'm not into hyper competitive scenes, Smash Bros holds a ton of memories as getting me into TONS of series, Earthbound, Fire Emblem, Star Fox, just to name a few. I've also had great memories playing with friends, midnight releases of Brawl, and even the new 3DS release coming in just a few days. But enough of the game, this medley is one of my first to coincide with the release of a new game. I put a TON of work into getting each theme as accurate as possible, as well as trying to really make a standout version of each individual song. The N64 Intro, I apologize, is a bit bare and hard to figure out since most people began with Melee. Luckily, the Melee intro was my chance to redo the old cover I had with Jam2995 2 years ago and I finally got to get Final Destination, Brawl, and some more goodies. I truly hope you enjoy one of the biggest medleys I've thrown together musically, and are excited for another amazing game. My guitar is actually in repair for intonation and fretwork, but I worked around it to my best. You'll note I tune down from B Standard to Drop A for the last sections, all to get the mighty low chugs. Hopefully we'll see more creative uses of drop tuning beyond this generic one, and more 7 string goodness in the future.

Oh, and catch the musical reference in Smash 4's intro, as well as some motifs of Smash throughout. Next cover will be my first all acoustic/classical!
