Day one at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island is an intense introduction to boot camp life. They step onto the iconic yellow footprints, undergo medical checks, fill out paperwork, and turn over personal items. Gear is issued, heads are shaved, and recruits are given little rest. The day is capped with the Initial Strength Test (IST), testing their basic fitness levels.
