MIM-104D/F Patriot GEM+/PAC-3 Animated Engagement Sequence

The Patriot Guidance Enhanced Missile Plus or (GEM+) is an upgrade to the PAC-2 missile. The upgrade involves a new warhead proximity fuze for greater performance against tactical ballistic missiles.

The GEM+ missile also provides an enhanced capability to defeat stealth aircraft, cruise and ballistic missiles, as a compliment to the PAC-3 missile.

A new Patriot Advanced Capability-3 or (PAC-3) missile was developed for increased effectiveness against tactical ballistic and cruise missiles, through the use of advanced hit-to-kill technology. The PAC-3 employs a Ka-band millimetre wave seeker which enables the terminal guidance system to destroy tactical ballistic missiles by hitting them head-on.
