'Studying the link between spirituality and the environment inspired me to take action at my church'

In March 2025, St Augustine's College of Theology will be launching an exciting Taster Term, 'Spirituality and Discipleship'.

As a student engaged in this Taster Term, you will be encouraged to think about what we, as Christians, mean by spirit. Together with your fellow students, you’ll explore what spirituality means for Christians who follow Jesus, in whom God ‘was made flesh’.

And to try to answer this question, you’ll examine not only theology, but contemporary science.

In this video, ordinand Amanda Monk Peak reflects on how the module deepened her understanding of ecological issues and inspired her to take action within her church community.

From joining her church's eco deanery group to integrating environmental awareness into events like the Christingle service, Amanda highlights how this module has both shaped her faith and empowered her to make a practical difference.
