Flame Tree Mini Notebooks - Pocket Size - First Impressions

In this video we look at Flame Tree Publishing Mini Notebooks which I picked up from Half Price Bookstore. These notebooks have lined and blank pages and beautiful covers!
I got mine for $4.49/3. These notebooks measure: 90x145 mm/3.5x5.7 inches.
Pros:
*beautiful cover
*nice price in store
*size was great
*pencil and ballpoint friendly
*pages are lined (8 mm) AND blank for sketching

Cons:
*most fountain pens bleed
*some stitching concern but not a big deal - just a few of them are off center stitch wise
*online price is too high

It turned out (and you will see in the video) these are not very fountain pen friendly (I encountered feathering and bleeding with my currently inked pens), you'd have to be using a very fine nib with ink that doesn't care to feather or bleed. I'm sure you could find something but I prefer to test what I'm actually writing with when I do these tests.
The notebook had no issues with: pencil, ballpoint, Pentel Energel liquid gel, Gelly Roll, Miron Pigma 01, Mildliner, and other non-fountain pen writing instruments.
In fact, I'd say this paper loves ball point - it provided a smooth writing experience with ballpoint.
